Description
Description
Her body is long and lean due to her lithe and active personality. She has a dusty brown pelt, with a cream underbelly, and darker brown markings that make her look like a wild cat. Her eyes are a mossy green color like the grasses in which they hide in. She has sleek medium long fur, a tail that reaches a foot and a half behind her, and whiskers that droop low on her muzzle for easy traversing through shrubs and low-lying bushes. Her claws are a bit longer than average which helps her to dig into the ground and propel herself forward faster. Along with the appearance of being a wild cat, Doveshade often has a ton of energy to expend and isn't afraid to suddenly start a spar with an unsuspecting warrior.

In the confines of the nursery in WindClan, a young she-cat was birthed to the silver bengal queen Mintsight. Her mate Fallingtail had been extremely proud to have his first kits, though he was a bit disappointed that she'd been the only one. He also was a bit upset that she was so small. It made him feel like he couldn't produce a good kit. At the time they were giving her her name, Fallingtail had brought Mintsight a shrew to eat and gain her strength back. Mintsight was quick to notice how her kit was the same size as her meal and so she gave her the name of Shrewkit. Her mate was not so pleased with this name, thinking it demeaning to strut around with how small she was. It didn't bother Shrewkit though. She went about her days like any other kit, playing, wrestling, being adventurous. Her small size was hardly an issue. Being born a bengal, Shrewkit was full of about as much energy as her parents did. She was always on the move, tracking bugs and such throughout the grasses of the plains. When she grew enough to catch each bug she came across, Shrewkit started going after the other kits, often starting little spars with them. On one occasion, she sprang upon a newly made apprentice. Shrewkit had startled them so much that they retaliated with a claw to her face. It went over her eye and immediately the apprentice apologized. Shrewkit, feeling stunned, stumbled her way to the nursery where her mother shrieked at the blood coming from her eye. Mintsight rushed her kit to the medicine cat's den where the russian blue tom called Bluefeather resided. He was quick to treat and clean the wound and informed Shrewkit and Mintsight that her eye would be fine. The claw had missed just enough that she would not lose her vision. Shrewkit was thankful and went to tell the apprentice what had happened and to let them know she wasn't mad. The apprentice almost didn't want to accept her forgiveness, but Shrewkit refused to leave until she had. Even with her run in with a claw, she was still overly energetic and playful. It became clear as she neared her sixth moon that she was eager to get the chance to learn and use her energy in different ways.
Apprenticeship
On her sixth moon, Shrewkit was named Shrewpaw and given a kind and gentle white she-cat known as Larktail as a mentor. Shrewpaw was very eager to get started, urging her mentor to take her out to train. Larktail was amused my her eagerness and she commended it, though she made sure that Shrewpaw knew that being too eager can cause problems. At first, she didn't get this and just brushed it off. When she started training, she also didn't see how it applied. Larktail started by showing her the ins and outs of running across the plains. She was a lithe and agile mentor and as Shrewpaw took tips from her, she learned to push herself to some intense speeds. It was invigorating for the young cat that she often asked her mentor to just take her out to go running. When she was denied a run, it was often so Larktail could teach her how to do something else. It was during hunting that Shrewpaw learned that being too eager could cause issues. Her energy just radiated out of her and scared the prey away before she got anywhere near it. It frustrated her so that she couldn't help but find some outlets for her anger. Larktail got the brunt of it, receiving the shouts of her apprentice and she relayed her wisdom to Shrewpaw just as she had before. It took her several training sessions on hunting for her to really get control of her energy and focus it towards her hunting. Eventually, she managed to catch a mouse, though it had already been wounded. It was a little demoralizing for her, but it also gave her some motivation. She needed to get better. When Larktail moved onto battle tactics, Shrewpaw was careful to show her enthusiasm. She was excited of course, but she kept it mostly to herself. The skills she learned were definitely helpful to her. Her quick and agile movements that she'd learned from running aided her well in learning the battle skills, though she'd never say she was the best fighter in the clan. Shrewpaw was glad that she wasn't terrible at it though. It wasn't much longer after she finished her training in battle tactics that she was trained through again in all the lessons she'd already learned. At first, Shrewpaw was upset, thinking that her mentor didn't think she was ready to become a warrior. But, Larktail did not hide her intentions for long. She told her apprentice that the point of doing the lessons over was to teach Shrewpaw patience. This was odd, and it frustrated her all the more when Larktail started the lessons over a third time. By the fifth go around, however, Shrewpaw grew calmer and simply let the lessons come to her. Her hunting had improved with the extra lessons and her agility was her greatest skill set. When she finished the fifth round of lessons, she assumed that a sixth was headed her way and Shrewpaw was ready to start again. Larktail, however, had a different plan. She took Shrewpaw out to training and instead of training, she simply sat and told her apprentice of how proud she was to have trained her. Shrewpaw was surprised by this but thanked Larktail for giving her such training. It was on her thirteenth moon that Shrewpaw became a warrior.
Warrior Life
Shrewpaw was excited to receive her warrior name of Shrewfoot. Larktail had told her that she saw it fit to name her as such due to her quick and agile paws. It was fitting and Shrewfoot was proud to take her place to watch over the clan for the night. All had been still and she'd paced around the camp a few times to make sure nothing was intruding from a different angle. The night soon passed and Shrewfoot went about her warrior duties, often desiring border patrols over hunting patrols. Sometimes, she just went off to run by herself so she could let off some energy. One of these times, she'd come across a rogue tom. She was quick to identify them as a rogue and was not surprised when the first blow hit her shoulder. He was quick to take advantage and tackle her to the ground, but Shrewfoot was quicker with her hind paws to kick him off of her. He landed heavily, but got back to his feet to strike again. She dodged and circled the tom for some time before she landed her own blow across his face. The impact stunned the tom enough that he simple stopped and stared at her. Shrewfoot watched him, seeing how he would react. Eventually, he shook it off and ran off. Glad to have won this battle, Shrewfoot returned to the clan, detailing her encounter to Cinderstar. The charcoal colored cat was displeased to learn of the rogue on their territory and made it mandatory that the cats go out in groups of at least two. Shrewfoot was upset by this, but she understood why it was necessary. Bluefeather was quick to patch up her shoulder from the rogue's claws and she went about her duties as usual, minus her solo runs. While her shoulder was still healing, Shrewfoot received her first apprentice by the name of Robinpaw. The snowshoe siamese she-cat was about as rambunctious as Shrewfoot had been, but not nearly as much energy. She went about training as Larktail had, though Robinpaw was not so easily trained in the ways of running. She often stumbled over her own paws, though she did keep a good pace. Shrewfoot thought this interesting and decided to see how Robinpaw walked. When she watched her apprentice, she noticed that she walked with a little bit of a limp. Curious, Shrewfoot wondered why that was. Robinpaw was a bit embarrassed to say she'd been born with it and Shrewfoot felt bad for asking in the first place. She didn't press the issue on running. Robinpaw showed extreme potential in hunting, even with her limp. She was a calm and collected young hunter, something Shrewfoot envied just a bit. However, when she started training on battle tactics, the rambunctious she-cat turned into the biggest softy she'd ever seen. Robinpaw was a horrid fighter and though she completed the tasks, it was never to anything Shrewfoot wanted. Her softhearted apprentice didn't enjoy the fighting even though she could do it if she wanted to. Instead of going over the lessons again, Shrewfoot took Robinpaw out on a walk with her. She spoke to her apprentice about the things she'd done as a warrior. Robinpaw was fixated on her words so intently when Shrewfoot stopped for a response, there was nothing for a few moments. Robinpaw told her about what she thought it meant to be a warrior and the things she had once hoped she could do and now could because of Shrewfoots guidance. She was touched by her apprentices words and decided that Robinpaw was ready to be a warrior. Her ceremony took place that night and the young she-cat was named Robinsong, for her calm, collected and soothing demeanor. Shrewfoot was happy to have trained Robinsong this way and hoped that she could do the same with her next apprentice. Instead of taking a break, she requested to have one right away, which was granted to her. This apprentice however, was something completely new to her. Owlpaw, a young brown and white tom, was a feeble, shy young cat. He could barely come up to touch her nose when she was named his mentor without shaking in his paws. Shrewfoot wasn't sure how to handle such a timid cat, but was careful how she approached him. Along with being feeble and shy, Owlpaw was also very easily frightened. Shrewfoot often had to announce herself before they started training. She went slow for the young tom, trying to help him get out of the shadows of the clan. It was difficult, often frustrating for her with her unusual amount of excess energy. Deciding it was time to find out the reason for this cats demeanor, she took him out much like she had at the end of Robinsong's training. Shrewfoot sat with the young tom and spoke to him as a friend. At first, he didn't want to open up to her, but eventually, as she continued talking about the things she'd done and seen, Owlpaw told her how afraid he was that the other cats would make fun of him. She was surprised by this. He was a small cat like she had been and she understood where he came from, but she was quick to reassure him. Shrewfoot told him how she'd been small when she was born, the same size as a shrew. This surprised him since now she was only slightly smaller than the majority of the cats in the clan. She assured him that he too would become stronger and that none of the other cats would make fun of him. Owlpaw was cheered up by this and went about training as usual. He still had some tendencies to retreat to the shadows when training was over, but it usually wasn't for long. Shrewfoot figured it was something to do with him needing some alone time, which she knew happened. He progressed at an average pace through the training, showing exceptional skills in battle tactics, which surprised the both of them. During this training, Owlpaw often used the shadows to his advantage. It was this that told Shrewfoot that he was ready to become a warrior. He was named Owlshadow that evening, but it was not to last. While on guard, the rogue she'd met in the field had returned and viciously attacked Owlshadow. He fought hard but eventually lost. The rogue proceeded into the den of Cinderstar and mercilessly took the life of their leader. By that time, the deputy, Lilacsight attacked the rogue and took their life. Shrewfoot mourned the loss of her apprentice so new to the warrior life as well as the life of their dear leader. Cinderstar had been a wonderful leader and he'd been lost to them. Lilacsight mourned deeply for her lost companion and mate. They had been together for some time and now the she-cat was lost. Even so, she took her place as leader, taking the name of Lilacstar. The she-cat had been particularly fond of Shrewfoot and often engaged with her when Shrewfoot needed someone to burn energy off with. She was pleased to name Shrewfoot her deputy and she accepted with honor.
Deputy
Shrewfoot, as the new deputy, wasn't sure if she was capable of handling such a position. Teaching apprentices was one thing, but leading a clan was a-whole-nother matter. She went about her business though, sending out patrols to check things out, taking news of what had been seen. After some time, she got used to the way things went, happy to find a rhythm in the leadership position. Shrewfoot found herself enjoying the position and many of the warriors she led requested that she be present on the patrols. It was nice to be wanted, having some of them tell her it put them at ease when she was around. Shrewfoot often went along just to burn some energy, but then other times she stayed back to spend time with Lilacstar. The leader was still having coping issues and had fallen ill in her den. Shrewfoot couldn't fathom the reason for it but she was sure the loss of her mate was to blame. She stayed by her friend's side for as long as she could until the medicine cat, now Adderheart, told her that Lilacstar would need to rest. Shrewfoot didn't argue. She hoped their leader would soon get better, but it was not looking too well.
Leader
It was on the eve of Shrewfoot's twenty-eighth moon that Lilacstar passed. The death of the newest leader took a toll on the whole clan, though many of them were pleased to see Shrewfoot take the position. She, however, was not so pleased. It was a different world between deputy and leader and the idea that she was now in charge was startling. When she finally moved down to the moonpool to receive her nine lives, Shrewfoot felt uneasy. She knew most of the cats in the clan, but she didn't think she could pick a specific cat for her deputy. As she became Shrewstar, she was given a small gift of help from StarClan. They showed her the image of one of the cats in the clan and she had to agree. It was Boulderfur. He had done so much for the clan while she'd been deputy and when she went back to WindClan, she appointed him as her deputy. Together they started working the clan up so they could move on from the tragedies of loss that the clan has suffered. It went rather smoothly and Shrewstar was happy in her position, still rambunctious as all the cats knew she was. She only hoped that her energetic ways wouldn't end her life somehow.

Boulderfur - I was thankful that StarClan showed me you as their suggestion as my deputy. I'd have to say that they were right about you. I hope to be a good leader and hope we can keep WindClan thriving together.
